Which "Binary" should I choose?
Added by Thi Nott over 2 years ago
One of the prefs in Rev 13 lets me choose which release of Mplayer to use. Two are presented, one includes ffmpg.
Is there a general direction I should take here. I noticed that the ffmpg binary was not selected by default, but was highlighted with bold type

Both are using FFmpeg. The FFmpeg-MT version is the Multi-Threaded version which would make more use of multiple processor computers. The MT version is a test release since it may not be entirely stable and without issues compared to the default version. I myself have seen video tearing issues with the MT release that I don't see with the regular one, but faster computers may not have the same problem. You can switch to it to experiment and you can always switch back.
