Keyboard controls no longer work in r12?

I just updated to r12 and all keyboard controls now seem to be missing (e.g. space to pause/play, cursor keys to skip back/forward). I've switched back to r11 for the moment because the great keyboard controls of mplayer is one of my favourite things about it, not having them is frustrating. Is their absence intentional or a bug?

As for keyboard controls, I haven't noticed any change between rev11 and rev12.

No, there hasn't been a change in the behavior of keyboard shortcuts between rev11 and rev12.

I currently don't have any idea what could be causing this.
