Question: How to downmix the audio in mplayer

Hello, this is maybe a stupid question but I'm trying to play a mkv wich has a audio stream in multichannel FLAC and the sound isn't working fine.

I think the trouble is that Mplayer isn't downmixing the audio for the stereo playback. How can I do that?

Under the audio options check the box for Virtual surround for headphones, this should help.
