Mpeg Problems
Added by Sum Yung Guy over 2 years ago
Hi - I'm new here... first would like to say thanks for all the work on mplayer osx extended, I really appreciate it. It's definitely the best player for the Mac and I'm happy it's being kept alive.
One problem I have though is with mpeg files, which someone already reported in the old forum.
I'm also experiencing that most or all of my mpeg1 files won't play properly, they are broken into flickering blocks. Setting a post-processing setting is a workaround as littleb2005 discovered, except then I can't play my h264 1080 HD files anymore because it uses too much cpu (and doesn't help the image quality anyway). Would be great if this could be looked into, thanks.
p.s. it does look to be the same as bug 103 and 149.

I get the same behavior. BIIIIIG kudos for finding the "Default" postprocessing workaround -- worked for me. FYI, I'm on 10.5.6 and was playing a 720p60 TS (captured from FOX).

I too see the same issue. Ill just check the bug tracker for this. But could someone explain the post processing filter a bit better?
