Description

It would be very convenient if there was an option to let the Q key quit the program instead of just have it close the open media file/player window, i.e. act like CMD-Q instead of CMD-W.

The default value of this option should be off.

What's wrong with using q to close the document and Command-Q to quit the program?

All Mac apps will quit in response to Command-Q, so changing that would be terrible for UI consistency.
If anything one could argue that Command-W should work in fullscreen mode as well as windowed.

I need to find a good solution for key handling between OSX and MPlayer. For many aspects it would be better for the GUI to handle all keys but that would limit some functionality.

I agree with anon that Extended should act more like an OSX application than like MPlayer. So I don't see such an option being integrated into Extended. User-configurable keyboard shortcuts would certainly be cool but probably too complicated to get integrated anytime soon.
