Description
Is it at all possible to have an mplayer pause on the first frame when a file is opened, rather than always start playing when he file is opened. Most other media players have this as a function, to allow for special set up before playing something. (choosing the right audio and subtitles for instance)

This is a limitation of MPlayer's slave mode (which Extended uses to control MPlayer) which needs to exit the pause look to process commands. There are some workarounds which work to some degree but I'll have to check with all commands.
I do agree that it's annoying the player cannot stay paused.
