Description

Hi!

I'd like to suggest the development of a feature that allows us to delay subtitles, so that they can be better synced with the video. There's something like this in VLC, but I like Mplayer OS X better ;)

note: the delay should be about 50 milliseconds at a time, positive or negative, so that 20 strokes in one key would delay the subtitles by 1 second and 20 strokes in another key would "advance" the subtitles by 1 second.

Thanks a lot!

oh..! yeah thanks that was it. I hadn't seen it in the menu bar....
Is it possible, by the way, to decrease the 100ms value to 50 ms?

Also, in another topic, is it possible to set MPlayer OS X as the default player for .mkv files?

again, thanks a lot ;)

At 30 fps, 100ms is 3 frames. At 24 fps, it's 2.4 frames. You likely wouldn't notice the difference if it was 50ms for the subtitles. Now A/V delay should probably be smaller than 100ms, but it has the same limitation.

Select an mkv in the finder, Get Info. Set "Open with:" to MPlayer OSX Extended. Press "Change All..."

Those are the default values from MPlayer. I haven't made them constants you can override in your plist but I probably should.

You can also change these values in the inspector but there you don't really have finer control.

The constants have been added to rev14. See the wiki page for information on how to change them: Constants
