RMVB froze after playing for few second

Description
Starting from rev 13, when playing RMVB files, the player froze after working perfectly for a few seconds (8~10 max). The play-head also disappeared, with the play-head bar having the "loading" status instead.
Cannot Fast-forward and Rewind, pause or (X) to close the player after froze. Cannot go back once the focus is lost. Could only terminate with Activity Monitor -even Force Quit cannot kill the mplayer back-end process.
Same problem found on rev 13, rev 14 test 1 and test 2. It used to work fine on rev 12.
My box is an iMac late '07 on OSX 10.5.8.
