Description
Times are changing once again, and new encoders are looking for new ways to improve video quality while keeping the file sizes down. Solution? 10-bit H.264 encoding vs. traditional 8-bit. Because it's still not fully supported on most players (I hear the latest beta release of CCCP has support, albeit buggy), Hi10P files are a rare occurence. But a small number of encoders want to embrace the newer format to save on bandwidth while still maintaining excellent video quality.
Currently, Mplayer OSX can play Hi10P, but there are severe blocking issues and other video artifacts upon playback.
